What is a ZIP file?

Last Updated: Nov 13, 2013 11:11AM CST
That's a very good tech question!

A zip file (.zip) is a "zipped" or compressed file "Zipping" a file involves compressing one or more items into a smaller archive. So basically it's a file that has many files or documents saved within it. This makes it easier for our members to download many documents that all go together in one package.

Our CDPE Advanced Monthly Marketing Kits are a prime example of a use for a zip file. That's because we give our Advanced Members 10+ powerful marketing pieces every month. Putting all those file in one .zip makes downloading them that much easier!

Most computers today come with .zip readers built in but if yours didn't it's no problem. There are plenty of free ones out there for you!

I hope this was helpful and answers your question!  If we can be of any further assistance, please reach out to us.  Thank you for being a CDPE!
